Dedham Church was painted by John Constable many times and he always made it look like a cathedral rather than a parish church....tho I guess the trees would have been shorter in the 19 century.
Since 2009 I have been an associate Tutor for the education Charity in the UK The Field Studies Council, mainly at Flatford Mill which was once owned by the family of John Constable, some say he was the first Impressionist painter.
This view of Dedham Vale was painted on one of my "Walking in Constable's Footsteps" weekends. We were on a path between East Bergholt and Stratford St Mary
