Painted on a sunny november afternoon, I love the way the buildings catch the cold sunlight as it moves west. I planned the painting of this scene for days so that the light was right.
The autumn colours may be too strong for some, but they are that strong and stronger around here.

I had my over trousers and a baseball cap on whilst working, a french man and his wife approached and he was most surprised that I was a female artist working outside.
It is these exchanges that add to the experience of painting en plein air
